Kayce Gifford is an artist with an invitation, to enjoy her art and the creative community. As the host of Gallery Buzz, she promotes art openings, studio and artist interviews, as well as featuring various artists and creatives on social media and on Spotify.

In her own art studio, her practice largely is based on timed life drawing sessions from the various artist’s organizations she supports. Using a variety of paints, mostly acrylic- her knowledge of stained glass greatly informs her painting style, which is semi abstracted breakage to build a larger image.

“I believe that allure and meaning can still be communicated in the absence of realistic detail. Form and color, too can speak volumes.”

When she is not in her studio, or gallery hopping- she is helping stuff the Hatch Art Gallery library with art supplies, and is helping set up still life drawing sessions and crafts for kids in the community. Kayce Gifford is also a licensed foster parent, and values instilling creative freedom and art appreciation in kids of all ages.

Kayce Gifford is also a professional costume model, and moderator for timed drawing sessions. She values cultivating an encouraging environment, where all levels of skill have merit.

Her highlighted educational and employment history includes curation and cultivation of art programming in the neuro-rehabilitative community, vocational training for at risk youth and holding a BS in Psychology with a minor in Art from Wayne State. Her Associates degrees from Oakland Community in Liberal Arts and Sciences, and General Studies were earned Summa Cum Laude.

In service to non profits she serves as elected Secretary of the Board at the Scarab Club in Detroit. At the Scarab, she has served on the DEI committee, Host committee, and Communications. Further, she volunteers time and art applications at Hatch with affiliate Hamtramck Disneyland just down the road. She has also been an honorary speaker with Vista Maria, whom she is a licensed foster care provider. Lastly, her devotion to animal welfare has been on the Board of NBS Animal Rescue, and doing shelter pet foster care through Detroit Animal Care and Control, as well as contributing a small mural at River Rouge Animal Shelter.

Committed to her art, and extending the invitation to the Art Community, Kayce’s Art and her show, Gallery Buzz can be found line and through social media.
